Hari Nair heads Western India Cashew Company, a third-generation family business, which is the leading Indian exporter of value-added cashew products and supplier of nut-ingredients, with a validated 5-Log nut-pasteurization program since 2009.
He has chaired the CEPCI (Cashew Export Promotion Council of India) and INC’s Global Cashew Council. He was rapporteur for the current UN-ECE Standard for Cashew Kernels.
As CEPCI Chairman, Hari organized the highly cited Government of India funded study on 300 Type-2 diabetic subjects by the Madras Diabetic Research Foundation (MDRF) with Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Spain and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, USA (Journal of Nutrition 2018), which showed that cashew consumption may increase healthy HDL Cholesterol and reduces Systolic Blood Pressure.
